I love Cage the Elephant so goddamn much and the love has continuously grown at a steady rate for 13 years.
I have never sweat/danced so hard or completely let loose in the way I did at Cage the Elephant. I think I was under a spell - the spell of ROCK MUSIC!!! I was immediately sad afterwards because I will never be that euphoric ever again. There will never be a better concert ever. I will never scream lyrics that hard ever again. I saw the devil in Greg’s eyes from how absolutely TURNED UP we were. Life will never be the same. BANGER AFTER BANGER AFTER BANGER! It was genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. And, I’m pretty sure Kacey Musgraves was a few rows ahead of me from what her insta story looked like. Just knowing that I was in her presence is the cherry on top of the cake.
3/4 of the Roo Crew at Cage in 2016. Thanks for the ride to this Dad -

Something I Listened To
Where oh WHERE to begin.
Grouplove
My, now previous (thank you Cage), favorite concert of all time was Grouplove at Music Midtown in 2016. We all got kicked out of the park for thunderstorms and danced in the rain next to the rainbow crosswalk in Midtown. Once they let everyone back into the park we SPRINTED to get to the front of the stage and screamed lyrics in the rain. I crowd surfed to Itching on a Photograph, so hearing it again with this crew was special.
Dominic Fike
What a weird guy. Love him so much though. He looked like he was gonna die up there and then goes, “WANNA SEE HOW MANY PUSHUPS I CAN DO??” If you gave a 12 year old boy a stage and an audience, you’d get Dominic Fike.
Maggie Rogers
Her glow up is unreal, and her outfit was further evidence that there is no reason to shop anywhere besides ballet outfitters.
Post Malone
He sang a COUNTRY version of one of my favorite songs of his (Stay) and brought out Billy Strings for it!!!!!!!
T-Pain
After every song I’d think, alright he must be out of bangers now. Every time, I was wrong. Turns out I’m a GINORMOUS T-Pain fan. I had no clue!
Cage the Elephant
See above
The Beaches
I had never listened to them before but a Canadian all-female rock band full of funky haircuts? Consider me lost down the rabbit hole.
Chappell Roan
Obviously perfect
Two Friends
This one was ridiculous. Lasers and spaceships and frat bros oh my.
Fred Again
That guy looks like he’s having so much fun up there!
Another Thought
Sap time - the music was great, but if I hadn’t been with Jesse, Abhi, and Greg, it wouldn’t have been fun at all. There are no other people I’d want to spend three days with in the billion degree heat, sleeping on the Tennessee ground while distant EDM music keeps me up until 4 AM, only to be woken up by the blazing sun at 6 AM. I’ve got about 50 combined years of friendship between all of them, and I somehow get closer to them every year. It was fun with them because nothing is ever not-fun with them. Let’s not wait 6 years to do ‘Roo again together please?

Life has been crazy so I haven’t been on top of this section. Lilian, want to hit us with that summer bucket list next week?
